It tends to heat up a bit, and its fans are noisy when they are at maximum to compensate, but the Helios 300 is hardly arguable otherwise. The best gaming laptop for the price.

Look beyond the sobriety of the exterior of the Acer Swift 3, and you will find a superb laptop that is more than powerful enough for work and study.

The Swift 3 (not to be confused with the Switch 3, above) is a cheap laptop, but this simple case is made entirely of aluminium and filled with bulky components. In terms of performance, it is surprisingly close to the Microsoft Surface Laptop, much more expensive. Its screen is a bit lower resolution, but the two are also surprisingly similar – apart from the price.

This laptop is a pleasure to use, its trackpad is spacious and its backlit keyboard offers a pleasant typing experience with the comfort of the keys decent. If you are going to write a lot while travelling or at the office, this is a great option.

The Acer Chromebook 14 offers excellent battery life, running for about 12 hours on a single charge. Combined with its lightweight (only 1.7 kg) and its ultra-thin frame (17 mm), it is an ideal choice for working on the move.

Google’s Chrome operating system runs smoothly on less powerful hardware, which means that the modest specifications of this notebook are not to be taken seriously. It can not run software designed for Windows or macOS, but you have a full suite of desktop applications in the form of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and there are thousands of apps to download from Google stores. Play and Chrome.

The Acer Chromebook is also an amazing value. If you need a laptop that you can slip into any bag and use it for hours away from an electrical outlet.

This is a mid-level gaming machine, and its performance reflects it: it will not amaze you like a high-end Alienware machine, but it is capable of delivering high and smooth refresh rates with an adapted set of the game and for a fraction of the price. Gaming laptops can be extremely expensive, but the Acer Nitro 5 proves that they should not be.

We do not like the trackpad of the Acer Nitro 5, but for a gaming laptop, this is not a major concern. Its keyboard is comfortable to use, and there are some player-centric add-ons like user-controllable dual fans.
